For the competency “Identify communities of practice within discipline and participate within these communities according to the ethical standards of the discipline”, I have chosen my “Career Goals Presentation” from EDCI 52002 as an artifact. In this artifact, I identify companies providing professional development services and resources to teachers and schools. I also list some professional journals that apply to math, STEM, and technology which are great resources for continuing education and resources for the classroom. I have personally worked and participated in teachers’ conferences organized by the American Association of Christian Schools (AACS) and Indiana’s branch Indiana Association of Christian Schools (IACS) so that was an easy choice because I have gained so much from those conferences. I have not done much with the others, but they have information and resources for my fields of study so they are great choices for classroom resources. Each class has its set skills and struggles, while the content is the same the presentation is a little different for each class. Even though I plan to transition out of the K-12 classroom over the next few years, I will  still need access to outside resources specializing in my specific content areas as I work with the curriculum development for my school.
